Our Lady of Fatima, May 13th

In honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima (May 13th), here are some links to explore the history of the miraculous events and the messages.  Also, to help us grow in our prayer life, here are some links to one of my favorite prayers, a true powerhouse and what St. Padre Pio says is an important weapon in the spiritual life… the Rosary.

Rosary

  • Pope John Paul II’s Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae (The Rosary of the Virgin Mary) – A wonderful introduction to the Rosary for beginners and great inspiration for those that already know it.
  • The Rosary as Family Prayer – Reflections on JPII’s above mentioned letter by Cardinal Alfonso Lopez Trujillo, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family
  • How to Pray the Rosary – a great one page, at a glance printable resource
  • The Vatican – The Mysteries of the Rosary – “As an aid to the meditative and contemplative journey of the Rosary, two texts are given for each ‘mystery’: one from Sacred Scripture, the other from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.”
    • click on one of the four pictures at the top of the page for a set of mysteries, and on the next page click on the number in the picture of the rosary for meditations on each individual mystery
  • Downloadable Audio Rosaries by Rosary Army – I pray the Scriptural Rosary with this recording on most days.
  • Help for the Rosary-Challenged – a good article on some book recommendations for the “Rosary-challenged” by Mary DeTurrist Poust for OSV Newsweekly
